Today I am reviewing the Santa Maria model of Stonegate at 72 Thornhurst. The same model was for sale at 237 Kempton for $619,000, however this home is asking $645,000 but includes all furniture and appliances. It shows nicely and is move-in ready. The main living area is up a flight of stairs, while the garage and indoor laundry closet are found on ground level. Parking for guests is off the street.

Through the outer door is a narrow walkway with no roof cover which leads to the home’s front door. I am not sure what purpose the enclosed walkway serves apart from the building’s curbside aesthetics and just the shape of the unit with respect to the neighboring units.
Upon entry, you step onto a tile-like wood entryway with a dark wood bookcase lined against the wall in front of the door. The carpeted staircase is to the left and there are three doors in the area; a closet with a stackable washer and dryer, the garage entry, and a coat closet. The garage sports epoxy floors.
Once upstairs, you enter into a large rectangular room consisting of a living room and an open kitchen with a small island. The floors are the same tile-like wood flooring as the entryway. With high ceilings and multiple windows, plus a small sliding glass door to the balcony, there is an abundance of natural light. The kitchen is to the left and boasts plenty of cabinetry for storage with its white cabinets and pantry. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and tile backsplash. The small island has space for only a couple of bar stools. Like other Santa Maria models, an island provides extra storage space as well as a nice casual eating area, but takes space away from having a larger dining table in the area. This particular model does not have a dining table staged. At the end of the kitchen counter space is the sliding glass door that opens up to a small square balcony which has space for a few chairs.
The living room is a nice size with plenty of large windows bringing in light. With built-in speakers and nice wood furniture, the area feels cozy yet spacious.
A hallway leads back to the den, two bedrooms and bathrooms. The den and bedrooms are carpeted, while the bathrooms are tiled. The shared bathroom and secondary bedroom are located on the right, across from the den. The bathroom has a single sink with a very basic white countertop, white cabinetry and large tub/shower combo. It is in excellent condition.
The bedroom is standard with one smaller window and a sliding two-door closet.
The master bedroom is at the end of the hallway. It is a good size with a walk-in closet which has a closet organizer with additional drawers. This model lacks a privacy door at the bathroom, which can lead to light and noise disturbing someone who is in the bedroom while the bathroom is utilized. The bathroom has dual sinks with a modern tile backsplash, a roomy shower with a bench and a separate toilet. It is basic, but clean.
The last room in the home is a den, which would serve well as an office or playroom. While this model has an open den, 237 Kempton has built-in double sliding doors to provide total privacy in the room. This den is currently wallpapered and used as an office.
72 Thornhurst has a nice layout if the homeowner does not mind going up the initial flight of stairs to the main living area. The huge advantage of this home is the inclusion of all furniture and appliances in the price. The home is move-in ready and is slated for Stonegate Elementary School.
