Today I am reviewing Stonegate’s Santa Clara plan. It is listed as a two bedroom, 1 ½ bathroom single story condominium, found on the ground level. However, it is actually a 1 bedroom with a large den. Parking for guests is off the street, directly in front of the home.

 The front door is found under the balcony of the neighbor, so it acts as a covered patio which has space for a couple of small chairs. Upon entry, you enter into a large rectangular room. The flooring throughout the home is wood, with tile in the bathrooms and a carpeted den. The rectangular room consists of a dining area to the right and the living area to the left. The six windows throughout the room bring in a lot of natural light. It is a good size room which allows the couch to be set up in a couple of different ways. Along the dining room wall, there are plantation shutters that can open into the den. The shutters can be shut for privacy.

Behind the dining area is the kitchen with a peninsula separating the two areas. It is an open layout with a sink and dishwasher in the peninsula and room for bar seating. The wood flooring flows nicely throughout the kitchen. The kitchen has granite countertops and backsplash, white cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. The garage entry is located on the back wall of the kitchen.  Along the other side wall are the pantry cabinets, additional cabinets and the built in microwave. There are plenty of cabinets and the layout is open and light. Next to the microwave is a double door coat closet.

A hallway leads to a room on the right, which is the den. Although Mayfair is advertised as a 2 bedroom home, the room lacks a closet and has no door into the hallway for privacy. It is a good size room with tan carpet and a large window looking out to the front of the home. I have seen this model with doors installed. However, the only shower/bath in the home is located in the master bedroom.

The half bathroom across the hall is a good size bathroom with a single sink and toilet. The cabinetry is white.

At the end of the hallway is the master bedroom. The wood flooring flows from the hallway throughout the bedroom. There is an abundance of natural light flooding the room with two large windows facing the front of the house and two smaller windows on the perpendicular wall. Some traffic along Crested Bird can be heard from the bedroom. It is a decent sized bedroom with a nice size walk-in closet.

The master bathroom has dual sinks, each with a large mirror hanging over each sink. A small window sits between the two mirrors. There is plenty of counter space. The countertop and cabinets are white. The tub/shower combo has clean glass doors and a basic white tile surround. The toilet sits behind the door, when it is open and has cabinets above the toilet. I did not see any extra closets for linens/bath towels.

71 Mayfair is desirable for anyone looking for a single story, one bedroom with extra den space.  It does not boast all of the upgrades I have seen in other models, but this home is in excellent condition. Passing cars on the internal residential street, Crested Bird can be heard from the master bedroom.   The home’s listing of 2 bedrooms was misleading, but perhaps a door and closet can be installed to create a second bedroom, although there is not current shower or bath in the hall bathroom. There is no yard or private patio for entertaining outdoors. The home is walking distance to Stonegate Elementary School and the community parks and amenities.
